About Me:
I have been learning and practicing wilderness survival & bushcraft skills since I was a young kid growing up in New Mexico. My father started me on this journey when we would head out for the mountains, desert or anywhere in between. His philosphy was simply being prepared for what could or most likely would happen. From there, I started learning primitive skills like flintknapping, firecraft, shelter building, foraging and ways to obtain water. When I joined the USAF in 1989, I taught water survival training for approximately 4 years while working as a Survival Equipment Specialist. After that, I continued to build upon those primitive skills by learning blacksmithing, wood-carving, ropework and more. Now, I teach family, friends and anybody that may be interested in learning any of these skills for themselves. I do not consider myself a survival instructor, survivalist or expert in this field. I only offer this information through my website because I enjoy sharing and strengthing these skills through continued practice. I absolutely believe these life skills are a necessity, especially with the dependence on all the modern comforts and technology that we have grown accustomed.
As I mentioned, I enjoy sharing this information and would be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding these topics. Please contact me.
